Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
A little more than a year ago I wrote an open letter to my ex, and in doing so it started the healing process for me. It has been a long road, but I am doing better.. my letter: Dear ex
Our lives are no longer ours, we went backwards to that unfamiliar place where you were you and I was I. Tears, loneliness, sadness and darkness filled so many years of our marriage. Once upon a time there was laughter too.
You almost broke me...inside and out. I almost let you brake me, inside and out.
But slowly I remember I love...the crisp smell of the next morning, babies, old ladies and chocolate chip cookies.
I remember I like monkeys, walking in the park, and the sun shinning in my face.
And one day it hit me, am strong, even when am weak, am resourceful, am reliant, am a mother, am a friend, am a woman, am far from perfect, but am back!
I found myself, almost broken but not quite so.
So today, I look back and in the name of us, the good times, the bad ones the ones in between; In the name of our beautiful daughter, I forgive you.
May you find yourself and deal with your demons, may one day your soul find some peace.
You will never hurt me again.
