Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
and apparently
succeeding
at manipulating you.
He's not expressing
any anger because
he knows that that
wouldn't work
in regards to
MANIPULATING YOU.
As far as "realizing"
anything. . . . .
he DOESN'T CARE
that you blocked him.
He INTENDS TO REACH YOU
NO MATTER
how YOU feel about
him reaching you.
If it were me,
I'd be deciding
right around now that
it was time
to DOCUMENT
everything he's doing
and
FILE A POLICE REPORT.
Like llene says, start to document it all and remember what you asked him to do for you. He isn't doing anything that you have asked. If he was changing he would stop being selfish and give you time and space to heal. All the best
This has been going on for a few weeks. But lately, he's been very nice. Not giving me a hard time when I want to go out, not getting angry or frustrated, he agreed to come visit my elderly aunt with me next weekend, etc. But, he's also tried to initiate sex with me and I just can't. I've turned him down a few times and now he's asking if we can go to dinner and a hotel this coming Saturday.
I answered honestly - I don't know, let's see. Because for some reason - even though I'm working hard to break the habit of being a bobble head - it's hard to say No, even when that's what I'm truly thinking and wanting.
He asked, what's going to change your mind from now til Saturday? I said I just asked for space and just still need time. He gets all quiet, not angry, but I feel horrible. Like I'm letting him down because I keep turning him away.
He's agreed to see an IC. I gave him a list of names from my insurance - they all specialize in abuse, although he doesn't know that. I'll see if he makes an appt for this week.
If he just wanted friendship, then why try to keep tabs on what I am doing 2 weeks later with non stop phone calls, texts and calls at work, even today? Why leave voicemails asking to see me, he misses me, so and saying " Don't make me come to your house to check on you"
Why ignore me and then when I reciprocate and remove you from my life so that you can do what you want, come back with a vengeance into my life when I am moving on?
This has been going on since Wed and I have dropped 5 lbs , about the only good in it.
I am keeping the voicemails, but really not threats and no reason to get the police involved as of yet. He simply acts like I am being the stubborn one.
And the cycle will continue for as long as you allow it to, unfortunately.
The behaviors will keep changing until you give in.... but don't.
I keep falling for each new thing.
Has the "nice" been nice for long in the past?
If not, don't expect that the nice will last at all now.
You are not being abusive. You are exerting your request to be left alone. He is expected to respect you as any one would. He is acting as though normal humanly requests do not have to be honored by him. He is trying to step over your boundaries without respect to what you want/need.
Stay strong and know that you are only asking for respect, which everyone deserves.
