So the abuser has fallen off the face of the earth in my world. I am so thrilled and happy. I am still walking on unsure footing though. Why, it's been 3 weeks since he has contacted me. That is the longest time in 7 months. I am thrilled but wondering why and what he has planned. I am sure he is very involved in tracking, wooing, finding, charming another victim. Its either the new gf or the rich older Xwife. Am I off the hook for good. I bet not. But everyday I am stronger and more sure of myself.

yay... make all the progress you can during this time. You need the strength. block his calls and emails and keep no contact. you will get through this. wish you all the peace in the world.

Yay seconded! He is probably backing off because he can't catch the scent of vulnerability from you any more. There's nothing for him to exploit if you never rise to his bait.

Go you! And yeah, he's also probably fishing for a new victim. They are dreadful predators...but you don't need to worry about that any more! Anybody as strong as you who doesn't get sucked in by his BS is free!

Yes. . . . . abusers generally
do try again, even after an
apparent hiatus.

But you will be a different
person, when he slithers
back.

Stay safe, and keep taking care of yourself..and stay no contact. Just because he is leaving you alone right now, does not mean he won't be back. Maybe he will leave you alone...But, you never know... Not to scare you, just so you are prepared...

It's so inspiring to hear positive stories afterwards. I'm glad to hear your are stronger and he is leaving you alone for now. Can you change your number or block him for when he does try and worm his way back?

I'm so envious, but at the same time know that you are probably right that you are not out of his sites by a long shot. I thought he was due to get married. Whatever happened to that? (Mine is between girlfriends right now and I'm hoping the sitation changes soon!)
