Hmmm, on yours, it sounds like something from an older black and white romance film like Bogart and Bacall, but I just have no idea.

Haha, it's similar! But much more recent, a comedy, and almost a kind of parody of those types of romance.

OK Joanie - I remember now....... Jack Nickelson to Helen Hunt. The line " maybe this is as good as it gets " hits me like a ton of bricks. It's eerie. The line I offered is from Forrest Gump....... when Jenny throws rocks at her sob father's shack. Many of Lt Dan's lines are memorable too.

It really is a tragic movie in ways.
I have never seen The Color of Money, I do know there is a famous line from it that Tom Cruise says to his love interest but I can't think of it?
I am normally not a Cruise fan, but I really did like the movie, The Last Samurai. At the very end, there is a line by the narrator that I love. I had to Google it to be sure I quoted it right though.

"Simon Graham [closing narration]: And so the days of the Samurai had ended. Nations, like men, it is sometimes said, have their own destiny. As for the American Captain, no one knows what became of him. Some say that he died of his wounds. Others, that he returned to his own country.
