Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.

My advice though is to have a cab for after you surgery. My ride flaked and it was awful. You're too out of it afterward to have to deal with someone's crap, you're going to want to just get home and go to sleep. If you think your boyfriend is going to flake, have a cab ready.
Don't talk for a few hours after the surgery or you'll have blood running down your jaw. After your initial nap, you're not really going to need anyone to do anything for you other than pick up your pain meds (if you even need them). Gargle with salt water a lot.
As for the sedation, I have no issue with needles, so that wasn't a biggie for me...I was out within minutes. It's like one moment you're alert, then stuff gets blurry and you're asleep. Don't look at the needle, focus on the machines, on a nurse's face, etc.
Food: Tomato soup, mashed potatoes, jello, pudding, cheesecake filling, apple sauce, spray cheese, reddy whip, etc. A lot of people recommend polenta, rice and oatmeal, but those have small bits that can get stuck in the wholes. You want stuff as liquid as possible and ALWAYS rinse after eating/drinking anything besides water. Have tea bags on hand as well to put on the holes as it can help reduce bleeding - make sure the bags are wet first. And make sure they give you dissolvable stitches!
I'm diabetic...so the dentist told me to make sure my sugar was a little high when I came in. If you have low sugar, you will have to do whatever you have to do to keep it at least at a normal level. Lots of protein, I would guess. Make sure the dr. knows that you are hypoglycemic.
I'm sure it will go fine. I imagine even your bf will leave you alone. He may not be helpful, but hopefully at least he might not be creepy. It may be, after a while, something he can say he did for you, hold it over you, LOL. But let's hope he has some basic decency. Maybe you have a friend or family member who can check in on you too?
Good luck. big hugs...
wisdom teeth out, all at once.
I had gas that left me awake.
It must have been "laughing gas"
because I thought the whole thing
was a riot.
Then-husband brought me home
and I was on industrial-strenght
Tylenol. Watched Gulligan's Island.
Didn't feel great, but by the evening,
went out and had
osso bucca for dinner.
The next day, swam my
routine half-a-mile.
No, it wasn't a day at the beach.
But, unlike my marriages, it
came with laughing gas.
youtube is FULL of EFT videos, where you just tap along while watching. so it's free, highly effective (I used it on a driving fear years ago and completely removed it! and I've used it for dental fears as well).
here is one video, but there are tons and tons there to look at.

I got mine pulled out without gas or being knocked out--they just put in a little anesthetic. I can say that I honestly wish I had been knocked out or at least given laughing gas. But I'm glad they're out now.
I actually bought some essential oil of clove (clove oil)--you can dab that on your gums afterwards and in numbs them. You can even do that now, before you go--since toothaches are painful. My grandmother used to stick cloves in her children's teeth because they couldn't afford a dentist--but clove oil works just as good and it makes your breath smell spicy too!
