Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.

Just saw something on TV that made me so sad.
On the surface, it may not look like it's exactly about abuse,
but in realtiy, it is.
I'm a sports fan, so it hit close to home.
What I saw was a feature on "fan violence." The piece
documented almost a dozen instances of what seems
to be a horrible trend, in which truly rabid "fans"
verbally and physically attack fans supporting the
opposing team. In reality, we can't even call these
criminals "fans," because in many cases, they were
so busy with their focus on violent assaults that they
never actually watched the game.
The piece chronicled horrible, verbal attacks on
teenage girls who wereattending a game with their father
as well as physical beatings that left men of varying
ages bleeding, brain damaged and permanently crippled.
There was video footage of beatings that went on after
the victim was unconscious.
Apart from a few situations that can only be
ended by fighting back (the Holocaust and
Bosnia come to mind), I am a pacifist.
The piece on TV this morning about fan violence
(and abusive coaches along with out-of-control
parents of student athletes can fall into this category),
has left me sad and shaking my head.

Why our culture is so okay with dehumanizing people I just dont know.
end up damaging others.
They do that because
they are trying to get
revenge on the people
who hurt them when
they were powerless.
They're taking their revenge
on innocent people, but the
fix they get from doing it distracts
them briefly, from their inner pain.
