Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.

That said, verbal communication, in order to be effective MUST INCLUDE FEEDBACK to make sure we communicated what we wanted to (i.e. many don't say what they mean) and that the receiver of the communication understands what the sender meant.
Not sure what this is about, but my guess (and I'm only guessing) is that the person's actions or lack thereof that prompted your question probably expected you to know what s/he meant by their non-verbal communication. That's more than likely their way of putting you in a lose (you) / win (them) position. It's not an effective form of communication because it puts you in the position of having to guess and giving the abuser more ammo to put you down. One example: Abuser's most oft used words where "in my mind, I said..." when the abuse source accused the abuser of not saying what they claimed to have said. Abusers are very skilled at setting things up so they can turn things against their source. It's always about the win / lose set up. Abuser wins. Source loses.
Keeping a journal of every time this happens will help you to know you are not crazy. But its also imperative to know that there is no fixing/changing a situation like this except to walk away and NOT interact. i. e. Total No Contact.

My daughter picked up on all of the cues of language both verbal and nonverbal.
My son...was a different story.
How? Well maybe as a child he just struggled more and no one took the time to teach him. Maybe anything spoken in his house was risky and he just learned to keep quiet. Maybe this, maybe that...
In the end, you can NOT figure someone else's life out for them. (Unless it's YOUR child.)
He's an adult, and if there are issues, he's got a choice: ignore them, or get help for them.
So maybe, at the end of the day, the only answer that really counts, is...he's ignoring his issues.
I agree with MyTrueColors...that means that it's time to walk away.
non verbal communication. My MC Commented you two
say a lot thru the use of body Language.
Its not a good solution to the problems at hand that i can
tell you. We could no longer Communicate on any other
level. We had been having Circular conversations once a
month. He could not Hear or see me nor did he want to
and i did not understand where he was at or coming from.
The marriage was all but declared dead and he had become
abusive and he was checked out and very Disconnected from
me and the marriage, HUGS
