As is common to most
myths, fairytales and
archetypal legends,
what we consider
romantic didn't
actually begin as
all hearts and flowers.

I won't go into the ancient
roots of this modern-day
spotlight on couples and
coupling. That's a click
away on any search engine.

As a single woman (for
many years now. . . some
of them when I was actually
legally married), I long ago
made a decision that
before I would shower anyone
else with my glow and my glory,
I would make sure that I
bathed in the warmth of those,
myself.

I'm not advocating utter
self-absorbtion. . . . .
just a healthy and happy
respect for and love of
who we are, inside and
out.

Consequently, on this
Valentine's Day, I urge
everyone out there,
regardless of your
relationship status,
to direct at least a
part of the day to
connecting with,
focusing on,
validating,
affirming,
nuturing,
nourishing
and pampering
YOUR SELF.

LOVE YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!

You are a magnificent garden
of complexity and creativity.

HONOR YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Provide for yourself
what you would like
anyone else to provide
for you. Be your own
supply of support
and commendation.

Most of all. . . RESPECT YOURSELF.

Accept into your life and
consume within your body
only that which uplifts
and inspires you
as you travel
a path of
well-being and joy.

When you do this,
you're more likely to
attract to your side
someone who resonates
on the same frequency.

Loving you all and
urging you to love,
honor and cherish
your own
sacred
singularity.
