Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Yes, it hurts...a lot...but you are doing the right thing by leaving him in the dust where he belongs.
People who tell you that your child needs a father are ignorant. Ideally, it would be great for a child to have 2 healthy parents. But having one healthy parent and one very disfunctional is only going to end up traumatizing and confusing your child. Better to be the 'lone' healthy parent. I did it, and my son is a happy, well adjusted successful guy. Not bragging (much!) but I'm living proof.
and...Your son may look like him, but he's not him, he's his own person with a caring, loving mom who wants the best for him.
If you 'must' communicate, how about email??.. takes the obligation and some emotion out of the equation. Tell him you will write him once a day re: kids stuff only.
He's trying to get to you by being a bully, don't let him know he is upsetting you, he feeds off of it. One day you may think you won't waste another tear on this disgusting son-of-a-bitch.
Good luck, keep us posted.
calmzone said it all very well.
Try to stop communicating except to co-parent and then limit the method of communication to emails except for dire emergencies.
Good luck to you and your son. Keep moving away from this abuser. You will be healthier and happier. That's my wish for you.
Ilene
I agree w/calm & Ilene. Unless I missed it, from what you have said in these two posts, I don't see that he has been a father to this child. Your son doesn't need to know an abuser, bio-father or not.
Stop ALL contact w/this jerk. That includes changing your cell number (I bet most companies would do this for free if its for safety reasons like an abuser is stalking you and he IS stalking you!) Also do not give it to anyone who you think my give it to the abuser.
Please stay safe!!!
Every time you have contact with them..It will put you five steps backwards...
He is verbally abusive..and also..Playing the blame game...
No contact..will be your saving grace...
Hes violent..nasty and detrimental to you...
Yes we can still love them despite all..But the real truth..and facts, will set us free..
Keep writing down the truth..and reading it..and re-reading it...it helps a lot...
You're a great mother..a lovely strong woman..You didn'y deserve to have him in your life...
and things WILL get better...away from him...Hugs!!
