Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Not sure how many of you watched and recall the series Friends but I loved it and have been DVRing it. Though I love all the characters in it for different reasons, I have always had a thing for Chandler (Matthew Perry) He has a combination of intelligence, humor, boyish good looks, shyness, empathy for his friends (be they male or female) and has a humble way about him I find endearing. I love the way he and Monica, who started out as friends, became lovers. They took the relationship slow, respected each other, built on their friendship and yet never lost their passion for each other. I realize it's just a TV show but the love, friendship and support they show to each other in character sometimes can make me shed happy tears as I so long for this and fear I will never find it. Guess I was just sharing some of what my feelings are on what I feel would be a healthy and loving relationship. Wondering what others are looking for? Feel free to share..

Yes the relationship is lovely to watch...
What I want, I don't know, I guess a friendship more than anything else, stability, equality! Something real and genuine. Someone to also offer me some security, I don't need it because I give myself that now but I've never had that from a man, that treatment That they would do anything for me and not bat an eye lid about it. I used to do that for my ex, I would do anything for him, I'd insist, didnt bother me, didnt expect anything in return, it was unconditional, only problem was he took it for granted, I guess I would like someone to be like that with me, unconditional, because I know I wouldn't take it for granted, I guess when your in a healthy relationship I imagine that you both look after one another :-)
1) a relationship with mutual respect for each other's quirks and interests. We all can't be exactly the same.
2) a relationship where disagreements are handled in a calm and respectful tone - no yelling, name calling, cursing, and intent to hurt.
3) a woman who is not scared to meet my family.
I have none of the three right now.
That's about it. All the rest is bonus.
