Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Be careful what you ask your daughter. Even though she wants her dad out, you don't want to have her feel somewhere down the line that you removed him from the home because of or for her. When talking about removing him from the home, tell her what YOU feel is best. Don't ask her opinion; she's too young to make that call.
There were episodes in my house where my spouse would become abusive then storm out of the house. My daughter (who was 10 at the time) told me to change the locks.
My daughter has been in therapy for about 5 years (she is now 16). Not because I kicked out my abusive spouse, but because of the abuse she witnessed and abuse that was directed at her. During our divorce process, my daughter's psychologist wrote a letter to the court indicating that my daughter should not be forced to have visits with her father (she was 12 at the time). And, she didn't. Get your daughter into therapy. It could be helpful with the courts.
