Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
As you know I've had to pretty much force my son into rehab. It's been a crazy couple of years.
Well he's been in for over 30 days clean. Talked to him today. Says he's feeling healthy and strong and happy. Says Mom I'm doing this for me this time. Not you. I feel good about myself for realizing I deserve a better life then I was living.
I cried a lot. I know the road is long but change starts with one foot in front of the other. And just like him I'm doing the same thing. I feel hope where I've had none for a very long time.
