Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.

I would rather write about all the good things that happened in my day today.
There were good and fun and interesting things, things that pleased me, things that made me laugh.
There were other things, in my personal life, that stopped me short, like finding out I needed brakes, and the expense that accompanied that. Or finding a deer tick feeding on my tender flesh at the very moment I knew my doctor's office was closing for the weekend.
I'd rather write about seeing the deer in my back yard (probably where I got the tick from!) or hearing a Beatle's song I hadn't heard on the radio for over forty years or enjoying a delicious fresh mushroom.
And then the world breaks into my consciousness.
Suburban Dad Pleads Not Guilty to Slaying His Family
The guy grew up in a Connecticut town in which I lived. He may have been there when I lived there.
His neighbors say he loved his kids. His new employer said he was doing just fine.
And then he slaughtered his wife, his babies and his mother-in-law.
What was he doing in the little town of Avon, when I was there?
Was he emotionally abusing his wife, and nobody knew?
Was she in daily terror ---- or did she actually not have a clue?
I don't want to be writing about this, but how can I just write about my little day and ignore that I may have passed this guy on the street, twenty-five years ago?
How can I write about my little day and ignore that another Connecticut mayor ---- this time of our capital city ----- was just convicted of corruption, bribery, extortion? Nine years ago, the mayor of Waterbury was convicted of having paid to have little girls brought to his office at City Hall ---- to molest. These are things that cannot be ignored. I'd rather talk about my garden. I'd rather talk about the music I love.
A forty year-old mother, her mother and her two babies are all dead today, killed at the hands of her husband, their father, her son-in-law. All dead.
Tomorrow I will garden. I will send my pain down into the core of the earth. My tears will water the seedlings. The earth will send me back the electrical energy to keep on going.

It is hard to understand how people can go so crazy...become so fearful that the fear manifests in such a horrible way. It makes no sense....
All we can do is to go on living our lives in a positive way, spreading love wherever we can. Any light destroys darkness. So we need to spread the light. As you have done with this journal.

For the record, the latest murders regarding which
I included that headline, is on Mr. Mortimer who
was originally from Connecticut, and killed his
family and mother-in-law not far from Boston,
this past week. He's pleading not guilty, but
he left two letters stating that he'd committed
the murders.
The convicted slime ball to whom I referred was
Eddie Perez, formerly mayor of Hartford, Connecticut.
He was convicted by a jury of his peers on five out of
six counts against him.
I woke this morning, with the tick bite painfully itchy
and seeming to be forming various rings, expanding
to the size of a quarter. I read that antibiotic treatment
within 72 hours of tick-removal can prevent Lyme. I'll
call my doctor first thing Monday morning and hopefully
see her then and get the antibiotic. So I'm feeling ever
so slightly better.
The garden is my summer delight. And so . . . . . .
out I go.
