Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
So after almost 2 months of not responding to any of his attempts to contact me about stupid stuff (not getting back together), I filed for divorce last week. The next day I sent him a letter telling him I filed, what he needed to do, all the reasons I could not have a relationship with him of any kind (mostly due to the abuse) and asked him to never contact me again. I wrote and sent him the letter for me, to get it all off my chest, I didn't care what he thought about it or expected him to do anything because of it. He sent me an email apologizing and saying he agreed with everything I said (ya right). I haven't heard from him since. So the kicker? I found out today that he registered for the YWCA Walk A Mile In Her Shoes fundraiser. For those that aren't familiar, its where men walk a mile in red high heels to raise money for domestic violence awareness against women and children and to support local women's shelters. He wouldn't have had any reason to think I'd find out about this so I don't think he signed up believing I'd find out...I found out quite by accident. I was furious. What a crock!
I think livndadrem really hit the nail on the head to throw everyone off about the abuse.
It's his preemptive strike before anyone finds out about the divorce.

He actually initiated the split and probably told everyone what he told me...that we were just incompatible because I was too demanding and controlling. But ya I agree, this is a good non-verbal way of saying "I'm not abusive". Puke!
It's called.

As for the stunt, these guys have said it all. Just... ugh.
Mine once comforted another DV victim in front of me. I sorta get how you feel. But remember - they don`t mean things like this. They are mere stunts xxx

It's all a show.
By, "they don`t mean things like this," I meant that there is no feeling for the cause behind their actions, and they are just performing to make a fake point that will benefit themselves and others whom they are trying to fool.
They should also be required to get a big noticable mark printed on their driver's license and other forms of identification that will identify them as an abuser. Further, if they are found to not be complying they should just get sent to prison for a while and all of their forms of identification required to have that mark should be replaced with updated ones that have it for them when they get released.
