Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Hugs to you. I have a tiny inkling of what you are feeling. And to let us in on that ...
You rock. :)
You are so amazing and full of wisdom, and so much support to everybody here.
I'm so sorry that you had to feel so much pain, and I'm so happy that you're feeling so much better!
sometimes a quick-ish flu...
sometimes like Norwalk, or the freaking plague..
I think that the better your self esteem, the shorter healing time is needed...
hugs to you, it's hard, no matter what.
you really are everybody's rock, and set the tone for this place.
It's so funny that you
referred to the "Norwalk" flu!
Without getting into all
the knitty-gritty details,
there is a totally related
connection to a Norwalk,
USA.
As time passes from the
Thursday night pronouncement,
the ensuing split and the pain
that followed, I'm feeling increasingly
relieved that the relationship is done.
I knew, both emotionally and intellectually,
that there were serious questions, as time
had progressed and the relationship matured.
Now that the "Norwalk flu" has pretty much
passed, and my gut is calming down . . . . . I'm
feeling increasingly relieved. Still, there's lots
of sadness, because there were lots of things,
during the year, that felt good. But a handful
of important things didn't feel good at all!
I addressed some of those things
and ignored some of those things.
In my gut, I strongly suspected that
there would be no satisfactory
resolutions to the things I felt
concerned about.
Anyway . . . . I'm unattached, again.
For the record, for the moment,
I have another number of things
that will be the focus of my energies,
other than jumping right back into
seeing if I can find a partner.
Goodbye to the Norwalk flu.
That crappy (no pun intended) Norwalk virus is going around here too. We've all had it. Yuck! Glad you are feeling better.
I'd written that ending the
relationship felt like a really
bad flu, and Rachel had
said, like the norovirus,
otherwise known as the
Norwalk flu. So I'd said
that was ironic because
Norwalk plays heavily
into the story of the
relationship.
: )
The end of the relationship
did upset my stomach.
But I'm beginning to feel
better, both emotionally
and physically.
Thanks, everyone!
Sometimes, I wish I didn't have any feelings .. like sad, hurt, defeated, self-pity feelings.
Turn your focus to other things - but stay here. We all need and love you!
But if you felt things weren't going to work out in the long run,
and you ignored some things,
I suppose it for the better!
Still sending ya some warm hugs, and good wishes as you get over this. It's never easy, when there was some potential! Thinking of you, and hoping things turn for the better, very very soon!
Thank you all for your love and support.
Not that I'm completely great
but I am much better over all.
If I'm perfectly honest with myself,
I believe that (despite my disappointment),
it's likely that I dodged a bullet.
I'd been picking up on things I
wasn't thrilled with. But then
we have to factor in that
"nobody's perfect" and
relationship means compromise.
With hindsight, I see the things
I wasn't thrilled with and feel
that they were bigger than they
seeemed in the throes of passion,
in which we all want to believe
that the problems we see are
smaller. . . . . not bigger.
I believe that this one was
deceptive and manipulative,
in at least the last three months
of our being together. Since he
was being deceptive, I didn't
know that's what was happening.
Now that I do ----- I'm ANGRY.
My justified anger is making
getting over him, lots easier.
GOOD RIDDANCE.
