Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
In class today, my teacher was talking about how there was a research study done to observe how plants respond to energy and if emotions/words have any substantial effect on growth process. Two separate plants were placed in different rooms, and each was given a set of care instructions. The first plant, along with its normal nutritional care, was to be given kind words, spoken to with softness and words of encouragement.
The second plant, along with its normal nutritional care, was given a different set of emotional care. The researchers berated the plant, chastised it, used harsh/vulgar language, and projected their voice in a high, angry tone.
The first plant thrived immensely quickly--its petals strong and with remarkable, vibrant colors--more than any other plant given simple nutritional care. The second plant however--though given the same nutrients--withered quickly, its petals sagging and bereft of color or vitality.
Can we even begin to imagine the effect of our words to the people around us? Through our actions, our tone, our manner of speaking, we are either allowing others to thrive, or withering their spirit.
Love is an internal realization, an external manifestation.
The people who brought us here withered our spirit TEMPORARILY but like the sun, we will rise. Don't lose hope.

I shared the information about the water crystals with my 11 year old. I think it's amazing. I'd feel awful yelling at a plant.
