yes it baffles me as to why your country wont ban Guns like us in britain do. The only reason i can think of is that they want idiots to go around killing innocent people, i mean what do they expect to happen when they make the means to supply and access guns so easy.

I was saying to my mum today that no one would ever think that going to watch a movie would result in being attacked and killed, and i am sorry if i offend when i say this but my response was "only in America" - why wont your president change the laws on guns?

I admit I don't know all of the details but i suspect that the guns used weren't registered to the the shooter. in times past tragedies like this are perpetrated with unregistered illegally owned guns or guns that are owned by someone else. I think in those situations the actual owners, if they are registered to someone else, needs to share the responsibility for the tragedy, through jail time as well as fines. Idk if not allowing gun ownership would stop someone from going off of the deep end. Somehow I suspect someone who would be motivated to do something like that would find another way of acting out , hurting or killing others. i do know recently a law was passed that those who have a license to carry a concealed weapon can now go to more public places and retain their weapon. Now to me that is scary. Idk the answers. I wish i did.

I really dont 'get' the need for freedom to bear arms. Why does anyone need a gun? My own viewpoint is, if you own a gun, prepared to be shot!

It was such a tragedy what happened in that cinema. I actually read about it when I returned after dropping my son and a few friends off at the cinema to watch that move. It made me feel sick.

Innocent people going out to watch a superhero movie, just a normal night out and so many wont make it home for a while, or forever. Shocking, disgraceful and shameful

in england no one is allowed guns, it is illegal and they have over the years destroyed a lot of guns that people in the public had, although people do still have guns, less guns are out there because of the change in the law and it has made a difference!

purchased four guns
legally. They were
all his and included:
two pistols, one shotgun
and a semi-automatic rifle.

The police estimate he
got off HUNDREDS of
rounds of bullets.

He (to this point in time),
ended twelve lives and
wounded 59 other people.

Before he left home,
he boobytrapped his
apartment, setting a
device to play loud music
to trigger a complaint.
When the door to the
apartment was opened,
explosives would be
triggered, drawing available
police to the apartment,
across town from the theater.
Less police response at the
theater would have enabled
him to kill more people.

One of the shooting victims
was 3 months old. It sounds
like the baby will survive. A
dozen others didn't.

Do not underestimate
the destruction that a
twisted mind is capable
of perpetrating.

A terrible tragedy and I, too, am a supporter of gun control. It was brought in here after we had a terrible tragedy in which approximately 32 people lost their lives. It is true that no form of gun control will end crime, or even end gun ownership. But it will massively reduce gun ownership and make it much harder for these sorts of tragedies to occur.

Thoughts are with the injured and the families of those injured and killed.

I felt sick when I heard about this, it is really awful that people like that exist.

Yes what happened is very sad. But where I live just about everybody owns a gun or more ( including ) me. We live where everybody loves to fish & hunt. Yes we live in the country & the south. But gun laws should be tougher.
