Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Hi guys, it's been awhile!
I wanted to contact the National Domestic Abuse Hotline to talk about something that I don't feel comfortable putting out there on the internet (long story).
But I'm not sure if that's the sort of thing they do. I am told by my in person support group that you can call them for anything, but I am not in trouble and I feel strange calling them for a non-emergency.
I can wait until I talk to an in person counselor but I will not see one for another three months.
It is appropriate to contact them just to talk and ask a specific question?

they're not the
people who can
or want to help you,
make sure they at
least give you the
number for your
local women's center.
In fact, get that number
whether they answer
your question or not.
Bottom line. . . .
never be afraid to
reach out. What's
the worst that
could happen?
