Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
This is a sexual assault. An assault does not need to have penetration. He overpowered you. He scared you. It sounds like PTSD symptoms to me. Your feelings are normal in how you are re-experiencing this. People usually try to avoid dealing with this stuff for the same reasons you expressed.
I would recommend seeing a therapist that specializes with PTSD and sexual trauma/trauma in general.
A big hug to you!
It was sexual assault.
And sexual assault is RAPE.
I understand, there was no
physical penetration. But
it was rape, nonetheless.
What you describe, in regards
to how you feel, is typical of
post-traumatic stress.
Please get to a therapist who
specializes in recovery from
assault and trauma. Don't
delay. You were assaulted
and you're entitled to treatment.
someone told me when i said please stop it and tried to push my dad away, even though he didnt actually rape me he was acting in a sexual way with me that i didnt want him to.
please contact someone for help.i think you should see your gp cos if its ptsd you will need medical help or couunselling of some kind, then you can talk about your feelings and hopefully move on with your life.
he did wrong to you, what happened is in no way your fault, please try and remember that
xx
I believe when we are having either flashbacks or body memories it's normal to not have any energy and to have problems sleeping.
I get the impression that reading that book may have been what triggered the memory so maybe the best thing to do would be to take a break from reading it or to just discontinue reading it or similiar books because you know it will trigger those kinds of memories. If that doesn't help then it may be time to consider getting counseling and/or temporary medication.
Body-grinding is technically
sexual assault.
Penetration of an orifice
is NOT a requirement
for a sexual assault.
sexual assault."
I wasn't aware of that. so that means that sexual assault happens much more often than I realized.
Jasgall since that is the case then going to a trauma center for victims of sexual assault and rape would help you the most imo. However I think once we realize what our triggers are of those memories, then staying away from them can help to prevent some of our ptsd and is the healthiest thing to do for ourselves.

i know what PTSD feels like. i was diagnosed with it a year after i left my mom's house. when i'd flashback then, i'd think i was back in the situation. i'd start screaming, crying, etc. i would re-live EVERYTHING. this feels different. so different. i know where i am. i know it's not happening again. but it's like the memory is on repeat in my head and i can't shut it off.
my therapist specializes in trauma. unfortunately, my phone was dead on tuesday. the driver for the medical transport company couldn't call me to buzz him in my building. i missed my appointment. i was also unable to reschedule. my next appointment is the 31st.
my sister thinks i am depressed. we watched my favorite movie yesterday and i didn't smile, sing, laugh, anything. i ate yesterday only because my dad would have flipped if i didn't. i don't feel like me. at all..... nothing is fun. nothing feels right. someone help me escape from the hell in my head.
