Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
The child whose leg
was purposefully broken
was
THREE YEARS OLD.
I posted a few months ago trying to get clarity about my own situation.
I live with a great deal of psychological/emotional pain after a traumatic divorce, and a poorly chosen affair led me straight into the arms of an opportunistic, predatory and abusive narcissist. I was unable to evaluate my situation, not wanting to over-identify with
victimhood. I have been a victim, no doubt, but do not intend to make that my career.
I know you have helped me and others here get all important perspective and clarity. I made some healthy choices after seeing clearly. Thank you again for your help and for all you do.
The image of a man deliberately jumping n a little girl's leg is .....omg!
Odd to say, I feel a deep sadness not only for the poor little victim, but for a person so stunted that he could possibly DO such a thing....
some of us don't have the cruelty gene.... marvel at it..... pity those lost in such a relentless and dark place. I cannot even imagine having that impulse. What a mercy on me.
Last week there was a murder suicide. A man killed his 6 year old son and himself.
Every week there seems to be something like this. I makes me very sad and angry.
A no mention at all from any politicians about domestic violence. They blame everything else. It is the elephant in the room in our society.
(and yes, this one about
the poor little girl), the
t.v. station insists (I
suspect it's to cover
their butt), insists on
referring to horrible,
horrible attacks as
a domestic "dispute,"
as if there were any
balance of power
involved. In my
opinion, that's a
TRAVESTY.
A "dispute".
How sad, how horribly sad.
When I am on here, warning people that their children will become the abusers best tool to abuse them with....this is what I'm talking about. They know they can hurt us best by hurting our kids.
It is why you have to leave for the kids. If its not a broken leg, it can be a broken life, a broken heart, a broken spirit...all of which could take a lifetime to recover from. And then, only with God's grace....
Thank you for the reminders of how we need to stay safe, and keep our children safe.
xoxo
I hope to never be in a situation like this ever again.. and I am working on my self worth and self esteem so that I don't think it is ok to be treated this way... but I am terrified that the next person I meet, and maybe have kids with could be this way too... I never want my children to be subjected to what I grew up with, thinking it was ok for daddy to be that mad, or that mom was never really going to leave... I never want other people to have the experiences that I have...
Sharing is trying to break the cycle... Sharing is what can change someone's mind
May my parents both burn in hell.
