Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.

I tried earlier (unsuccessfully) to post the reply below:
Nothing you do could "make" his anger or coldness worse. He's an abuser. He will continue to be an abuser. The only way that his abuse will change is that it will INEVITABLY GET WORSE.Normally I'd advise you to get into individual counseling with a specialist. . . . but you already are. All I can advise you now is that if you want anything in your life going forward to be better than the past 12 years, you're going to have to make some changes. Your local women's center experts can help, guide and support you in doing that. By the way. . . . holes in walls and punching "things" means that he's already VIOLENT. This means that WHATEVER you do, you NEED A SAFETY PLAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Please consult the women's center before you do anything else. If you truly can't imagine leaving him, then you will really need some high degree strategies to stay safe and sane. If you can imagine leaving, then you need additional strategies to stay safe and after that, RECOVER from decades of abuse. Please take good care.Sending you hugs and wishes for safety and clarity.
