Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Today I go to restraining order hearing today against my daughter.
It sucks, I don't want to do it. I don't want to go.
I love my daughter with all my heart, I feel so torn as to what to do. I know in my heart I have to protect my children against her, but at the same time they cry to have her in there life.
Has anyone gone through this? My daughter is 19, she hit her brother, and right on the temple on his head. Earlier last month she gave me a concussion.
I have talked to her about getting help, counseling, treatment, getting her education so she can get a job to support herself. It's like she wants me to sit right beside her and do it for her. I can't, I have my three younger children to tend to now.
She has filled out apps just for show, never followed up on them, or tried to move forward in any area of her llife. She has so many opportunities, and just blown them.
Our work program was willing to pay for her to get her drivers license, she never got them. She found an excuse not to do it.
Our schools offered her many opportunities to get her diploma, she never went to school. I would wake her up and she would just go back to sleep after I left for work.
So I tried to encourage her to start her own business, I know a lot of people who have not finished school and went on to be successful entreprenuers. But she would start thinking about bigger schemes, such as selling drugs, or stuff like that.
I get so frustrated at her because she won't straighten up.
I don't want to hinder her anymore, but what can I do? She told me one day, that she would never ever hurt her siblings, and now here she is hitting her brother, and telling him this is the way she is going to be now, from now on this is what she will be like.
I refuse to let my children to be around any abusive behavior.
I want my children to be safe and secure in there home. Not to live in fear and isolation. I want my children to be healthy and live happy and productive lives and not have to worry if today they are going to be hit, or yelled at.
why do our innocent children have to take on the roles of there abusers?

they were very scared, but it was the path HE had chosen.
a year or two after not hearing from him, something happened (he won't say what) and he ended up in the hospital in another province..
when he got out, it was enough of a scare that he went completely straight, went back to school, and is now a geologist, married, with 2 kids.
his parents weren't sure at the time if they were doing the right thing, and it could have ended badly, but the decision to do wrong was their son's choice, just as it's your daughter's choice. she will have to live with the consequences of her actions and hopefully she will get a scare at some point, or feel ostracized enough that she'll get her act together.

Earlier i heard she was posting stuff on fb about me, so now I have to go through charging her with violation of a RO. ugh! will the nightmare ever end! ugh!!!

On a different note. Say things don't better, in time they might..... Perhaps guidance in the area of what to say when turning in an application. What to say in an interview, etc.. How to dress for an interview. Some kids are in need of that guidance and some are just super independent and can just learn as they go. My son is so shy that I have to teach him those things.
I'm so sorry you are going through this. I can't say I understand but I can say I get it. If it were my child I would be hurting bad.
