This thread is not about a
"relationship."

It's not about anything that
falls into the category of a
life-and-death dilemma
or intensely urgent crisis.

It's just a "super market"
illustration of
narcissistic entitlement
on an every-day, fundamental
level.

At the market, this morning,
I saw a spot open in which
to park.

The space just to the right,
had the grocery cart corral
on one side, and the open
space I was eying, on the
other.

The space next to the
grocery cart "bring it back
here" bin was occupied
by a mini-van, which was
pulled far from the corral
and nearly into the next
space.

Nevertheless, I pulled into
the open space, parking
my (comparatively small) car
squarely within the lines of
the space.

When I got out of the car
and walked past the mini-van
I saw that the driver of that
car would obviously have to
enter their vehicle from the
passenger side, as they
had parked so close to
the next space, the one
I now occupied, that they
wouldn't be able to get
in on the driver's side.

Ah well, I thought. That's
the way they chose to park.
My car occupied only the
space between the lines
that delineated that space.

Here was the note left on my
windshield, when I returned:


YOUR PARKING SKILLS ARE TERRIBLE!

I HAD TO CLIMB IN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE
JUST TO GET IN MY CAR.

YOU HAD THE WOHOLE PARKING LOT
TO CHOOSE FROM.

DON'T DO THIS EVER AGAIN!



Do what? Pull squarely into
the unoccupied space of
my choice, the one next
to yours, in which you had
for whatever reason, chosen
to park in crookedly, nearly
taking up a whole 'nother space?

Silly me!
