Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
I'm sorry for all that you're going thru. I was aghast that a dr. would say, "You already saw your Dr. What do you want me to do about it?"
Unfortunately, there are drs like that. I had a similar experience. I've also been told over and over that "its all in your head" when its not. Some drs are just jerks.
Please don't give up. There are good drs out there. You might call some drs offices and ask if there are any drs there who practice a combination of convention AND alternative medicine.
I am not a dr, but, IMHO, taking 30 meds could definitely cause all kinds of side effects and make someone feel worse in many ways, including physically, mentally & emotionally. I finally found a dr who took the time to go thru all of my meds, one by one and look at the side effects, compared them to my sx and make some adjustments. And I wasn't taking anywhere near 30.
Please don't stop taking any meds until you find a good dr who will evaluate you and the meds and help you make adjustments that are right for you.
This will probably take time, so please try to be patient. Be selective about who you spend time with. It's good to associate w/only positive mentally healthy people who treat you w/love and respect.
Keep looking for drs who will help both you and your son. You might want to reach out to someplace like the Cleveland Clinic. They are cutting edge in traditional medicine and are expanding out to include alternative medicine as well. They may be able to refer you to someone closer to you.
Another thought is to contact your insurance company. Some of them have patient advocates who can help you find a dr who will take the time to look into you & your son's situations.
Please try not to anticipate the future when it comes to your bf. It sounds he is a good guy. Your mom, on the other hand, doesn't sound like someone who is in your corner or is willing to support you. So my advice is to steer clear of her as much as you can. "just tell yourself you aren't sick" isn't very supportive.
Do whatever you can to take good care of yourself. Stay away from people you aren't supportive, positive, and/or who put you down in any way. You might also want to contact your local shelter and ask about any free services they offer like support groups & referrals to therapists who specialize in abuse recovery.
