Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Just venting for a moment.
When I divorced our abuser, the courts decided he could see them in small, regular chunks of time. One of the criteria for this access to the kids was that he get into family therapy with them so they would have support as they adjusted to having him back in their life. (I don't agree with this decision, I don't think he should have access, but the courts did.)
Anyway I found out this week that he has - of course - failed to make a single therapy appointment in the months he has had the kids. After sending me numerous angry emails about how *I* was the one holding up therapy somehow.
I don't currently have a lawyer, no money to hire one, and I am just so not looking forward to wading into another legal fight because he can't follow court orders or take care of the kids. I need a head-bashing-a-wall emoji!

Also, do your children have a GAL? If so, call him/her and tell them he's not followed the court order.
Keep the emails he sent as they could help your case.
I'm sorry you have to deal with this. IMHO, the courts don't have the knowledge, training or experience needed to make decisions regarding children when it comes to abusers. We really need a better 'justice' system.
