Once Upon a Time

A long time ago, on a Sunday in November
(a day that was also 11/20), I got married.

I loved the man I married. I was young but
not too young. He was everything I'd ever
looked for.

As time went on, he turned out to not be
. . . . . respectful.

As time went on, I got sad, then I got angry.
Then I got divorced.

I never stopped loving this man. But I won't
stay where I'm not treated with respect.

Once upon a time...I got married on a Sunday
in November.

I'm not sorry I married him.
I'm not sorry I divorced him.
I wish him all good things.

Once upon a time I was hoping to
spend my life with someone who
respects and cherishes me.

I still do.
