Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.

Yes. Just now, I stumbled on ---- on-line classes for perpetrators ordered by the court to take classes in, say, anger management and domestic violence awareness.
They can pay for them with any major credit card and complete them entirely on-line. And then they can go back into court and show the judge that they've completed their court-ordered requirement. And now, I guess, they're a decent citizen and a healthy, wonderful partner.
Hhhhhmmmmmmmmm.
Well, it's not like the on-the-ground classes actually work, either. So I guess, what's the danger?
Yeah. On-line classes to make someone learn to be nice. Um hmmm.
Once in a couple dozen million, an abuser will get turned around and not abuse anymore. Why that will happen on the occasions it does, falls into the category of a not-so-minor miracle. My guess is it probably didn't happen on-line.
I'm almost tempted to pay the money and take the course.

Its a mockery on the abused , an invalidation of the importance of their experience...I cant think of quite the right word I'm searching for here but you catch my drift?
Its like when someone works really hard for years and years for a traditional law degree and then someone else does the on the job nvq with assignments instead of exams or something and people say its equivilant and i'm sorry but its so not
My ex had degrees in both law and psychology, and a course like this would've been like a junior crossword puzzle for him...
Abusers might be 'evil,' but they're not necessarily stupid.
According to the site where I saw this, this is court-approved.
Anyone that believes you can be trained to be nice has got it wrong anyway - you either are nice or you're not nice surely.....
the reason I don't abuse people is twofold:-
Firstly, I do not have the inclination
Secondly, (well until recently anyway) I didn't have the tools- I have never had any idea of what you might best say to hurt someone or win an argument...I'm not saying I never hurt but I never intentionally - knowingly hurt and if I do hurt someone I know it fast and I am sorry and
Thirdly, I have no desire to win that bad
Sorry that was threefold wasn't it....but abusers,,,,actually know how best to hurt you and they want to hurt you and they take pleasure in hurting you...they do it deliberately....so no amount of training them in what is right and wrong will alter their basic make-up surely? their dominant urges? they desire to win, hurt and control?
Maybe I'm wrong....?
