Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.

I only wish the justice system & even many shelter systems were more supportive.
What can we do to help our local shelters, police & justice system be more empathetic and supportive?
Be visible.
Be vocal.
If it's safe for you, be a proud survivor and talk, talk, talk.
Talk to the media.
Stand up for services.
Talk about emotional abuse. People understand bloody injuries. They don't understand emotional injuries. Stand for your sisters and brothers. Talk about how profoundly it hurts and how long it lasts.
Insist that the media don't trivialize family violence by referreing to it as: a domestic "DISPUTE," as if it were about two people having a heated discussion when it was an ATTACK, an ASSAULT!!!!!!!!
Make sure your local coalitions against domestic violence understand the severity of emotional abuse, and that all abuse is connected, and that abuse occurs to fragile, older adults and that it occurs in same-gender relationships and that it occurs in the workplace and that it can happen to men as well as women and that all abuse is connected.
Most of all, love yourself and spread respect wherever you go.
Be the CHANGE.
Be, be, BE the CHANGE.
We appreciate you mission and wisdom. thanks for all that you do to bring awareness in P&E Abuse.
