Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
I know I am not alone....
I am trying to severe ties with my entire toxic family once and for all. I have been trying for more than 18 years, moved 4 states away, I blocked their phone numbers but the message is not getting through.
Last week I filed harassment/threat reports with my law enforcement, but I can not wait for them to show up at my door again.

But I recently got back in contact when my dad was hospitalized. My mother contacted her pastor who contacted someone I knew in youth group who contacted our mutual friend in the area. Her tentacles are long.
My birthday is coming up. I let my dad email me but blocked my mother. He just asked for my address to send me a gift. I'm not giving it to him. My father was abusive but I had a close bond with him when I was a kid, before the abuse started. It still messes with my head how that sweet man I once knew became my worst nightmare.
I got a burner phone to call them from. But talking to them is causing me serious distress. I'm about to cut them off again.
How do you make it permanent? I wish I had the answer. For you, move again and tell no one with a connection to them where you live. Maybe even change your name. Get a PFA or restraining order. Follow up on charges if they violate it.
