Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Sorry, folks. I'm feeling jumpy and feral today. With a pull towards the self-destructive.
I'm acutely aware of the corner I've been backed into, and its hard to focus on the here and now with such a bleak future before me.
Last night they started tech week for the show my friend kicked me out of.
If my other 'friends' have their way, I'll never get a chance to play that role, or about a dozen others on my bucket list I'd be perfect for.
Didn't have session yesterday. Really thinking I need to pursue divorce. But the thought of being alone, of not having her at least in the background to turn to, even if she is capable of monstrocities.
I don't know which is worse - the threat of being put in prison for life, or the threat of being on the sex offenders registry for life, and having to wear that scarlet A.
I've been asked to help with the domestic violence ministry at my church - mostly, to put together their webpage. I feel it, and yet it terrifies me.
"I look at the mangy coyote, fur matted with blood. There's a wild look in his eyes - too much white showing. He is statue-still, save for his chest heaving and his eyes darting frantically about, searching for that route of escape. Patches of rough skin show through the tattered remains of what once must have been a fine coat. A low whine of utter dispair emanates from low in his throat. His head is low to his chest, protecting his throat, jaw dropped as he pants. I can see a hint of the savage teeth he bears, yet he is not attacking. He is restraining himself, simply looking for escape. The steel jaws are locked around his hind leg, and blood spatters the ground. I yearn to set him free, to help him escape to heal. But I cannot - to do so is to terrorize him further. And besides, he is me."

The fear of being alone is very powerful. I think it's a big part of what keeps a lot of us tied to our abusers. But at the end of the day, we're alone anyway, even if we're with them. When you are with somebody who treats you like a second-class citizen, like a thing, who doesn't really SEE YOU at all -- there is nothing more lonely than that, in my opinion.
