Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Those are the ingredients in a herbal relaxation preparation I took that worked a treat. Valerian and Skullcap are also available as teas, but it's a matter of taste - if you can't drink the tea, look for them in herbal sleep tablet form instead.
Be careful if you are on medication already, and check with a doc first that the herbs won't react badly with it. Even though they are herbs, it can happen. Better safe than sorry!
Hope this helps xxx
If you find you have dreamless sleep, that's something to make note of and talk to your psychiatrist about.
I drink a cup of green tea in the evening. I also do 6, 8 breathing for a few minutes while I sip my tea. That's where you count to 6 while you breathe in then count to 8 when you breathe out.
I tried St. John's wart and it didn't help at all.
Just be aware that if you are taking an anti-depressant, you cannot take things like 5HTP, & St. John's wart. And, as Rockin said, check w/your dr.
The Somas are for the spasms in my neck, the Dr thought they would help with migraines but I don't really notice them helping for that so I take them at night for sleep.
I will check with him next week as my insurance is supposed to kick in then. Already paid but you know how that goes. Not sure what this new insurance will or will not cover. Also hope to find a therapist that is not in the same town and is a bit more specialized in trauma or abuse.
