Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
My mom told me yesterday to stop talking or else she'll tape my mouth shut. I already don't talk that much... I can't get her words out of my head and it eats at me. She's never been there for me and she can't. She's neglected me my entire life, she watched as my dad beat me almost to death and didn't do anything. She's never cared, who am I kidding. Why am I lying to myself? That she does care... She never has and never will. She could care less if I die. I can't believe I let myself fall for this... I'm such an idiot....

Hun, don't let your mother hold you back from getting the treatment you need. I would talk to someone about the fact that she doesn't want you to go. It would probably be better for you there for a while.
