Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
My oldest daughter has always been a difficult child. She does anything and everything to get constant attention. Nothing is ever good enough for her. She's been on countless medications for her depression, and is still complaining about her current meds. In the later part of 2020, I told all three of my kids about my plans of moving. My daughter didn't agree with my decision even though we've been talking about moving out of the area for several years for many reasons including my ex-husband's stalking behavior, because she didn't want to have to leave her toxic girlfriend behind. I've always spoiled her because I'm tired of her constant complaints so I usually appease her to get her to leave me alone. She's always told outsiders how horrible of a mother I am towards her even though I'm not, for attention. It's never bothered me, because I know the truth that I've always done the best that I could as a single mother. She's such a manipulator, that to keep us from being able to move away to a safer area, she psychologically damaged my other two kids and has them going along with her schemes to make me out to be a horrible mother/person, she even went as far as calling CPS and telling DSS that she didn't feel safe in my care, and has gaslit my younger two children into believing her, my middle child has even changed their whole personality to be someone my oldest child would find acceptable, so now they all gang up on me every time I ask a therapist for help. I've been selfless in my care of all of my children, but every time I try to stick up for myself and my younger two by telling their intensive in home counselors about the abuse I'm continually suffering by my oldest daughter, all three of my kids get together and attack my character and they tell countless lies about me as a person which my oldest has led them to believe, that the attention gets taken away from them and their actions, and I'm left feeling increasingly hopeless. There's a therapeutic Foster care family that might be willing to take my oldest child in for six months to a year, when I can hopefully get some peace, but afterwards, she still won't be 18 for another year to year and a half and I have talked to the local domestic violence shelter and services, and I continue to talk to my own therapist, but I'm finding it harder to deal with the constant emotional abuse by my own child. I talked to a police officer who said I can't get myself emancipated from her, any suggestions?

My mother was a grandiose and vulnerable narcissist and the my father keep himself busy doing volunteer work during his retirement. She was brutal to him and to my sister and me while growing up. When she'd get drunk her behavior got worse. Eventually she got kicked out of her bridge club for her antics.
She told horrible lies about my sister, my father and me. People who didn't know us well believed her but a lot of her friends didn't.
There are some wonderful video on youtube about narcissists, sociopaths and borderlines. Google Cluster-B personality disorders and you'll see what I'm getting at.
I don't think there's a cure for these people. That's the general consensus of the mental health profession,
Because she's you flesh and blood it will be tough for you to cut her loose but there probably isn't any other way. It's debatable as to whether these people are mentally ill. I think they are just bad people.
You may want to provoke her into hitting you and have her arrested. Jail won't cure her but arrests and convictions will give you some leverage until you can legally kick her to the curb.
Again, narcissists, borderlines and sociopaths generally don't respond to therapy.
