Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.

Is that what you want your son to emulate when he grows up? Is your relationship one that you would be happy to see your son in, when he's an adult? On either side of it? It's what he's learning as "normal" for adult relationships.
Can you get yourself some counselling, to help you process what is going on day by day, and to help you build your strength and self-worth, and also to help you gain real clarity about what is happening here, what he's really doing to you and to your son.
I'm sorry I don't have the advice you were specifically looking for. But I genuinely believe that there is no way to "just cope" with abuse.
I'm sorry for what you're going through.
Livn said it about as well as it could be saie.
(She usually does.)
Ironically, there are probably
lots of people you can trust.
There's definitely one
person you CAN'T trust.
You're married to him.
It's not humanly possible
to ignore abuse indefinitely.
Abuse kills.
If it doesn't kill you physically
it will slowly destroy, just like
flesh-eating necrotizing fasciitis,
all the best bits and pieces of
who you are.
And it will do the same
to your son.
The only way to survive abuse
is to escape abuse.
Please do what you need to
to escape his abuse
and claim a
healthy, happy life.
Also, I totally agree you can't ignore abuse, because he will keep making it worse. If you are even thinking of leaving, the sooner the better.
In the mean time, I applaud you for not feeling guilty, you can control that. He can only try to make you feel guilty. You are the one that decides what you feel. I think I would try and ignore, but you said it yourself-----It just keeps getting worse. It will continue to get worse. Please leave, if not for you then for your son.
