Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.

I don't post much because I usually don't know what to say in reaction to your stories beyond "I'm so sorry to hear this" but I am here constantly and I read nearly everything that goes up.

I just want to say that you are all an inspiration to me. Everybody on this site has suffered far worse than I ever believed possible and you've all come through stronger than ever. Keep fighting and stay strong.

I can relate. A lot of times I don't know what to say other than, "I'm sorry you're going through this."

I don't really fit in around here because I wasn't abused in a romantic relationship, but only by my family. And I can't talk about my life on the forum because I am terrified one of my abusers might be reading DS. So all that makes me want to post less and less as time goes by, and just sit back and listen instead. There are a lot of awesome people here, sharing their stories.
