Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
I have had a phonecall tonight off his sister. Telling me he is in the hospital. He had an accident at work. She said I should be with him. That I am his wife. She said he is upset and crying. I told her no. I am not allowed contact with him. She doesn't believe all he has done. His family just blame me

Many (although I want to be optimistic and say I am sure not all) families of abusers think their relation can do no wrong. They either ignore or enable them.
But I'll tell you this: if his sister was with a guy who did to her what HE did to YOU, you can bet your life that they would be telling her to show him the door!

just like that... grrr!
