Yes definitely Joannie! I'm so sorry you're having to deal with his. He has crossed a serious boundary by doing this. You could report him to FB and you should be able to untag yourself if he's tagged you. But unless FB removes his posts about you, there's not much you can do except to block him (as well as going NC) and all those who are interacting w/him as they are more than likely not trustworthy.

I would say you are reading it exactly the way he's doing it.

It sounds to me like he could have lied to everyone about you after you - BRAVELY, I say! - didn't talk to him. Getting people onside to make him feel better about being a jerk.

To answer your original question: YES, it is entirely possible for an abuser to do that, generally speaking.

I think he's being spiteful. Trying to sabotage you. It is in an abusers nature to be vindictive and I'm sorry that you have to deal with this.

Like the other poster said, if u feel up to it, report to Facebook, just so u hv it on record.

Also, I wd be extra careful during this time, when u leave the house or work. I don't mean to make you nervous, but my exabuser has shown up over my bed when a neibir let him into our adjoining vestibule and also as I was pulling out if work. They don't like no for an answer, especially if they are used to being in control. Here for you and try to stay strong. You can do it.

Abusers will stop at nothing to get to you. If you close one door, they will sneak in another. There are myriad ways of cyberabuse. (Having experienced this myself, I have to say that it is particulary crazy-making and sinister!) The only way to deal with it is to block it all! Block him and all of his friends. If they are doing stuff like this to you, they will never never be worthy of your friendship. Cull the toxic people!!! You get to choose who touches your life!

Well I deactivated my Facebook. I already feel a bit better, kind of like a weight has been lifted. I realize I might have some friends who will text and ask where did I go and they miss me, to come back to facebook, but in hindsight, they didn't even chat at me or post on my wall when I did last time. I feel it is just keeping me from healing anyway. Wish me luck in getting past this..I appreciate everyones support.

That is so brave of you, Joanie. For the friends who really care, there will be other ways to keep in touch apart from FB. A friend who didn't care to be a friend just because you weren't on FB would not be a true friend anyway. You'd deserve infinitely better than that if it came to it!

Thank you RB. One of his friends, the one I just said talks to me regardless of if he is with me or not, just texted me, telling me about her dr appmt and said she loves me. I imagine she seen that she could not contact me on fb, otherwise she would of messaged me there.
I will be careful. I honestly have a kind heart and want to believe the best in people. I will wish her well, but keep my life and what I am doing to myself.

I have never bought into the whole Facebook phenom. All it really is is a way to cull marketing information from people and attach it to a digital profile. Every picture that you post becomes the property of Facebook and can be used (sold) for any marketing or business venture they choose. They have your name, family connections and friends. Government snooping, anyone? How insidious! And yet we keep falling off the cliff, following the lemming in front of us.

How did we live before Facebook? Quite well!

Well put ehope. I often feel as if it's a competition. Look at me, I have a happier life than you. My kids have more accolades, my husband makes more money, loves me more, etc. As if we don't have enough stress in life, we have to measure ourselves against others on a social site. Then who knows if its the honest truth or sugarcoating?
Anyway, as soon as I deactivated, it's like I felt the tension drain from my body. I am not saying Facebook is bad for all, but it is not currently good for me. I have people say I am too sensitive for it. Maybe so, but if getting rid of it helps me to spend more time reading, grooming more horse or walking in the woods, then it can't hurt.

You're not being sensitive, you're being sensible and tuned in to what is best and healthier for you.

Facebook has a lot of "I have a bigger pixel peepee than you!"
