On one of the morning magazines today
was an interview with a young woman
(and her mother), discussing a video
the young woman recently posted on
Youtube of an incident that took place
seven years ago.
The roughly seven minute video showed
both her father and to a briefer extent,
also her mother, beating her as "discipline"
for violating an internet restriction.
Both parents are holding instruments intended
to inflict pain and injury. The mother beats her
once. The father strikes her with first, a strap
and then later with what looks like a board,
many times, threatening at one point to
beat her even more.
At the time of the video, the girl was 16.
And the father. . . . . is a judge.

Judge William Adams is under fire this week after his disabled daughter posted a video of him beating her when she was a teenager and it went viral. Today, his daughter Hillary, sat down with Matt Lauer for an interview with the Today Show where she revealed her reasoning for posting the video on YouTube.
The video of the beating can be seen here (warning, there is very graphic footage in the video) and the video of Hillary (and her mother who was also seen beating her daughter in the video) on the Today Show this morning can be seen below.
Hillary basically said that her reason for posting the 7-minute video was because she wants her father to get the help and counseling he so badly needs. When asked if she wanted him to lose his job, Hillary did her best to distance herself from the question but its clear that she does not want her father to maintain his position as a family judge.
When cameras caught up to Judge William Adams yesterday, he seemed adamant that he made the right decision in beating his daughter on countless occasions.

Texas judge admits to on-camera beating
A Texas judge faces a police investigation and judicial probe after a video showing him beating his then-16-year-old disabled daughter was posted on the Internet.
The graphic video drew international outrage after it was posted by a woman who said she was the victim of the beating seven years ago and that her parents -- including her father, Aransas County, Texas, Court-At-Law Judge William Adams -- were the ones seen beating and cursing at her in the video.
On Wednesday afternoon, Judge Adams was temporarily relieved of his duties for the next two weeks, and a visiting judge will take over his caseload while the matter is being investigated, according to the office of Aransas County Administrative Judge Burt Mills.

Following the release of the video, the media followed up
and a reporter was asking the judge questions about the
incident. His answers were completely typical of a thoroughly
dysfunctional abuser. They included:
That was a long time ago.
It was just a spanking.
Her mother was there.
I didnt hurt her.
At the moment, hes been suspended from his
judicial duties. In my opinion, thats good news,
all round.
The video that the judge's daughter released
can be accessed on Youtube by anyone over
eighteen. Be advised, it can trigger. Its nasty,
sickening and violent.
The mother has since divorced the father. She
said shes apologized to her daughter and the
daughter has apparently made peace with her.
Theres another child, hopefully not in the
custody of the father.

REMEMBER "just and only" are four letter words abusers use to excuse. It was just, I only hit her........................
Should he lose his job? In my opinion, maybe. The video was 7 years old and past a limitation of 5 years reportable law.
This is a hard one. And the victim and her mother admitted to Matt Lower that they had motives in releasing the video.
Reminds me of the scripture "Be sure your lies will find you out!!!!" I think he should step down in light of it all. A sincere admittance and apology would have been nicer than denial. So since he denied it. Its up for the jury to decide to convict!
I assume he has already lost his family, not that it meant much to him, except to have convenient victims from whom he could attempt to steal a soul or two or three, to try to fill the void in his life.
He's a pathetic excuse for a human being. I would expect him to live out his life like my ex, old, sick and all alone. Yes, it's too bad he can't, meaning, is not able to, apologize. But we all know that's a long shot, like a million to one, with an abuser.
Glad the mother and daughter are free....
Should he stand down? Well if he is dealing (as was said at one point) with family matters and with children then yes. He can't be charged, it seems, because of the limitation, but that doesn't mean he's a fit person to deal with family disputes or with children. Particularly given the way he minimised and excused the whole thing. And almost put the blame on the daughter. Also his "there is a story which will come out" ... the mother said in the interview that she believes he will try to "project" and put the blame on her. Inability to take responsibility for one's actions is not something I would want to see in a judge, whose job it is to impose responsibility on others for their actions.
No matter how old the video, in circumstances like this, it's better safe than sorry.
