Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Telling your doctor could be as
simple as:
My childhood was dysfunctional
and painful.
A doctor who understands
that a dysfunctional, painful
childhood has lifelong repurcussions
will know what to do, from there.
But not all doctors feel that a
dysfunctional, painful childhood
is important to things at hand.
If that's the case here, then,
speaking for myself, I would
MOVE ON. You will make
your own choice.
Second, it's not a given that
you need to be on meds
forever. Sometimes, meds
for a short term will be long
enough to get things under
control.
Third, yes, everyone has
different side effects. If
there are side effects that
are worse than the benefits,
then you'll stop that medication.
Fourth. . . holistic is good. I
believe in it. I also subscribe
to the intervention of . . . .
whatever works! So.. . . if there
was some way. . . whatever way
that was, that got the anxiety under
control, would you avail yourself
of whatever that was?
Those are my thoughts on your post.
Sending you wishes for
all good things.
