Haven't posted in a while, which I suppose is a good thing. I have been happily dating a new guy for a couple of months now: a very kind and sincere person. I had not heard anything from my abusive ex until, I can only assume he "heard it through the grapevine" that I was dating someone new. Because the three of us used to work together at one point, this guy I am now seeing had witnessed everything I had been through with my ex, and he was always my shoulder to cry on. I have always really liked him.. The problem is, he lives VERY close to my ex, so I was extremely hesitant to go to his house.. The day I decided to face my fear and stay a night with him, the next morning, he woke up to a bunch of threatening messages sent to him by my ex: wanting to fight him, telling him how horrible of a person I am, and demanding that "she no longer goes to your house because it is disrespectful of her"... Really?! I'm disrespectful?! My new guy is very rational, and not confrontational in the least, so of course he tried to talk it out like adults with my ex, but as I had already experienced, there is just no reasoning with that guy. Once my boyfriend realized he was getting nowhere, he simply threatened to call the cops if he kept harassing us, and we haven't heard much more from him... He seems to believe that that will be the end of it, but I know my ex too well, and I can't count how many times I have thought the same thing.. So once more, I am afraid to visit my boyfriend because my ex just can't let me be happy... The funny part? He has a new girlfriend, yet he is still giving me grief. I've started to have nightmares almost every night featuring my ex... I just don't want him to ruin every potential relationship I can have, especially with someone as nice as the guy I am currently seeing..
