Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
though I'm sorry for the
circumstances that have
brought you here.
What you've described
above is all kinds of abusive.
Question:
Do you have children together?
Answering your question
at the end of your thread:
Your observation that he
may be trying to "police"
your emotions is exactly
right.
In fact, it's not "just" your
emotions that he's manipulating.
He's doing a pretty good
job of controlling everything
about your entire LIFE.
Here's a suggestion
(an emphatic suggestion!):
Find and visit your
nearest women's
resource center.
Share with them
what you've told us.
Ask them if they offer
any kind of support
group or even better,
if there's any kind of
counseling available
through their facility.
Two other strong
suggestions:
Don't share with your
husband anything about
what you're thinking or
what you're doing or
what you're learning.
And last of all, if you
don't have a child or
children with him to
this point in time,
don't get pregnant
now. If you already
have children together,
that's another discussion.
I hope you get to the
women's center sooner
than later, because there's
a lot of information waiting
that will help your life ahead.
Take good care.
Hugs and wishes
for clarity and
better days ahead.
