Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
There three extremely important things you need to do to be able to move on.
1. Practice extreme self care. Love & trust yourself above all others (this will more than likely take some therapy). Do whatever it takes to take good care of you.
2. Go TOTAL NO CONTACT immediately. This means block him from everything including but not limited to social media, email, phones - everything. Also go NO CONTACT with anyone who is friends/related to him.
3. Get into therapy with a QUALIFIED therapist who has additional training in recovery from abuse/trauma over and above what they got in school and that is required for their license.
Without doing those things, it will be very difficult to move on.

I think it's about taking one step at a time and removing yourself from toxic environment.
When my relationship was over I was very exhausted, I felt like my brain was washed because of the behaviors you describe - hot and cold and no stability.
At some point you are so into it and it is so intense that you let this happen. Don't blame yourself. Now you are aware and you can stop the abuse from reoccurring.
