Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
ALL lasting real change in anything, diet, exercise, relationships are hard!
an abusive relationship?"
Sorry, but abusive relationships
are virtually never "turned around."
So the question of
easy (or even challenging)
isn't really relevant.
If you envision
the relationship
continuing ----
and continuing
forward in a
BETTER way,
then the only
chance for it is
if you took an
EXTENDED
break from each
other (no less than
eighteen months). .. . .
and during that time,
both of you looked
for and found a
HIGHLY QUALIFIED
therapist whose
specialty is
recovery from a
dysfunctional family
of origin and/or
recovery from abuse.
And then each of you,
individually worked
with your individual
therapist really,
REALLY hard, to
identify and then
remedy the toxic
behaviors contaminating
your lives and relationships.
Easy? Sorry.
Easy is the last thing
reprogramming
and repairing
emotional injury
is.
Possible?
Yes. It's possible.
But it's not quick
and it's not easy.
Sending you best
thoughts and wishes
for finding the life
you want, and
making it happen.
