Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
First of all, you owe him no explanations or justifications. Since he has already been violent, do NOT break up with him in person!! THE most dangerous time for abuse to escalate physically is when we try to leave. Then go No Contact. Absolutely No Contact. Do NOT give him a change to try and reel you back in. It's good that you are not married, living together or have any children.
Block him and all of his friends from your phone number and email & all social accounts. Change all of your passwords to all of your accounts and on your computer. If he finds a way thru that, it may be that you will have to change your phone number and email address & close out your facebook and any other social media accounts. That would mean one of your friends has been sharing information w/him. Abusers are very good at conning people!
Do NOT talk to any of his friends. And do NOT give out your new number to anyone you don't trust implicitly.
Also, take different ways to school & home. Take a self defense class. Carry a can of mace or pepper spray (whatever is legal is your country).
This may sound drastic and dramatic, but better safe than sorry.
If you haven't told people he has been abusive, tell those you trust now so they can help support you. Document all incidents you can remember w/as much detail as possible.
Please contact your local women's shelter for additional advice on breaking up safely. And also please get some counseling. No one gets out of an abusive relationship without having been thru trauma. So you will need some time to heal before moving on.
Finally practice good self-care!
All the best to you and please keep us posted!
mtc's response was full
of great suggestions.
I'd just venture to move
one closer to the top.
Please call or visit
your nearest women's
aid centre or the
counseling center
at your university
RIGHT AWAY.
Then do all the
rest of mtc's suggestions
one by one.
Nineteen is the
PERFECT age
at which to
step away from
abuse and
learn as a young
woman what you
were too young to
put together at 16,
that you are too
precious and too
wonderful to accept
being treated with
disrespect by
anyone.
Please take good care.
Sending you hugs and
wishes for better things.

Please please be safe! If he has hit you before then it wont be the last time, no matter what he promises it wont stop there, with the other abuse just keep it in your head that you are young, you need out FOR you, and you CAN do it!
