Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.

"I sometimes feel like I shouldn't be on here because of how many times I have went back to my abuser."
Yes, you do deserve to be on here!
I, too, went back and forth many times before leaving. Whenever I talked to him after a prolonged absence, even if it was about something small like belongings we'd left with each other, he would always find some guilt trip or (usually empty) threat with which to hook me back in, and before I knew it I had to plan a way to leave again.
DO be extra cautious as you're watching to see how this goes, not only for his behavior, but in watching your own thoughts too. When I was with my abuser, he slowly pulled me into a pattern of thoughts that I later realized were ludicrous, but at the time they seemed sensible. So while you're still fresh from being away from him, you could try writing a journal entry describing everything you feel about the situation and the pros and cons you weighed when deciding to come back to him. Then in a few weeks (if you're still with him), go back and read it and see if there's anything you've changed your mind on, and whether that change of mind makes sense. If you see anything that makes you wonder if it isn't really your abuser's thoughts and not your own, it may be time to leave before you get pulled in further. (This is just my suggestion, based on the things that I was facing in my situation. Yours might feel a lot different, so do this only if it makes sense to you.)
I know what you want, and we ALL wanted our abusers to change, but it RARELY HAPPENS, and life is short, and years are lost...
If he does anything to you again, don't walk, but RUN AND DON'T GO BACK!
