Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.

He called me a couple weeks ago and asked me to come out to his house to talk, I got there and he told me he didn't think we could be in a relationship anymore. I started crying and told him I needed to go, he tried to hug me and tell me he didn't want me to leave. I asked him why, he said he still cared and loved me. I started grabbing my stuff to go, then he said "well I was hoping you would stay and change my mind" like our love was some sort of game. I kinda lost it, and started yelling while packing my stuff. He got mad and started taking some of my things, and I tried to explain those were mine, but out of nowhere he punched me full force in the face. My lip was split so badly I needed stitches. I ran up to the bathroom and his mom followed me, seeing what happened she immediately started helping me. I kept trying to tell her I was sorry since it's her son, she just told me "it's not about him being my son, it's human rights and nothing is worth this, you're young, leave and don't look back. NOTHING is worth this." I felt so bad but she stayed there with me. I couldn't get myself to go to the hospital by myself and I just wanted someone that made me feel safe so I called my best friend to come get me. Fast forward to the hospital, He called me and I picked up, he said he was sorry and he didn't know what got into him, he had never done that before and I know he hasn't. We've known each other over half our lives, he's a pacifist. He asked if I was okay and I got mad and told him of course I wasn't okay. He asked if I would talk to him and I told him yes I would, but not that day. He told me he loved me and got off the phone. I went and picked up my car and talked to his parents, they were supportive to me even when I didn't expect it. They told me I should avoid him and stay away from him, I deserved better. My brother drove me back to my sisters right down the street from my house because I didn't want to be alone. I got another call from him, this time he was upset I didn't talk to him when I was at the house. I told him I had no intention of it and he started crying. We talked about why I didn't want to and somewhere along the lines I was stupid enough to give into him and go get him. He said it would be our last night together as closure. He cried when he say my mouth and told me I deserved better, I deserved someone that wouldn't do that to me and cried a bit more. He cuddled me and I started crying because it reminded me of everything I loved about our relationship. Anyway that night turned into almost every night for the past two weeks and he's been nothing but supportive and willing to get therapy. I just can't move on from this, I keep telling myself I shouldn't give him another chance. I should find someone that wouldn't do it. Someone that's always kind.
But I love him so much, I really do. I don't want anyone else, but that trust is broken and I'm so lost, I don't know what to do anymore. He's upset and pissed that a lot of my friends are mad at him and threatening him, he's even mad at me for bringing them in and telling them what happened. I just wanted the support. He kept telling me he would have been there for me, but I told him he scared me and told me he doesn't blame me after what happened, he just wished I would have talked to him before running my mouth. My head is telling me to leave, but my heart is telling me he's actively trying to make sure it doesn't happen again...so I should stay. But he's also being an asshole about the aftermath of what did happen. Sometimes he still cries it happened, other times he blames me for the aftermath he's going through and tells me he needs time to himself to cool down. I don't know what to do, I've tried moving on from him before and it never worked. I drank everyday for a month and cried myself to sleep.

He hit you once, he WILL hit you again. He appears to use crying and blaming depending on how it will suit HIS needs. Which method will keep you where he wants you?
Now you yourself are practicing negative behaviors...drinking every night for a month. That should tell you that he's not good for you. A relationship is suppose to have a positive effect on you, not a negative effect.
He can get his therapy without you waiting in the wings. Move on with your life. You deserve better.
Anything less than 100% owning of his behavior and apologizing to everyone and anyone about it means he'll do it again.
And that is what I see.
You need to stay away from him. You need support from your friends. I know it hurts very intensely, you just have to ride through that and out the other side. It'll hurt worse if you go back.
I totally get it that you still love him. Once you love someone, it's very difficult to stop. What it takes is time, and to love yourself more than this guy is showing you. When you're ready, there's plenty of guys out there that would never do this to anyone.
Please call this number:
(907) 586-3650
It's the number for your
state's women's resources.
Sweetie . . . . everything you've
shared with us is a TEXTBOOK
description of an abuser.
For just one thing ----- he
lacerates your face so
you need it sewn back
together and BLAMES YOU
for 'running your mouth."
For a second thing ----
he is NOT a pacifist.
A pacifist doesn't
batter anyone
let alone a woman
and the woman he
claims to love.
And whether he's ever
done this before or not. . .
(maybe he hasn't done
it to YOU before, but that
doesn't mean this is the
first time he's attacked
someone. . . . but even
if it is. . . that he's done
it even once is a serious
predictor that he
WILL BATTER AGAIN.
He WILL.
A third thing. . . . .
Abusers ---- even those who
swear they're going to change -----
have little ability and an EXTREMELY
minimal chance of being able to
change.
A fourth thing. . . . you shared
with yourself that because of
your involvement with him
and trying to break it off
inclined you to drink
"everyday for a month."
This should be an indicator
to you of how toxic your
connection with him is.
Fifth thing. . . . . please,
Please, PLEASE. . . .
DON'T GET PREGNANT.
As bad as it's been lately. . . .
if you stay together with him
you will find that it will get
worse and worse and worse.
And if there's a baby involved,
the life of that child will be
forever filled with sorrow.
Leaving an abuser can be
not merely hard, but dangerous.
The people at the women's center
will help you make a plan
to do it finally and SAFELY.
He is NOT a pacifist.
He is a BATTERER.
He should have been
ARRESTED for
ATTACKING you.
Please call that number
and let them give you help.
You need to find a safe way out of that relationship as soon as possible.
I'm devastated...and quite lost, not exactly sure how to even begin moving on. =/
