Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Sometimes he is soooo much like his father!
Well, read your journal. I can actually relate to the continual litigous mess of it. Im quite a few more years out than you.
I think you definitely suffer from post traumatic stress disorder. I found it helpful to get into a womens support group and get counseling. there are steps you can take which can help you purge some of the poison that this situation has left in you. Once you have gotten to a better place, I think some tough decisions might need to be made ( I am sure you are thinking ........"oh great......more tough decisions" :) )
justice is not something that always happens in the court system. I doubt seriously you can be made "whole". they cannot make up for the injuries done to you. I suspect you may eventually have no choice but to write off alot of what has been taken.
As to your kids, it sounds like they are deeply damaged by growing up in a situation where they saw the emotional, physical, psychological, financial, verbal and just about every other type of abuse you suffered. They are in survival mode. I don't know if that helps you forgve them for alligning themselves with their Dad. Your situation is a great example of why people should leave quickly if they have kids. I doubt they have connected more with their Dad because they love him more, but because he is in a better position to help them and I am sure he puts tremendous pressure on them to avoid you. He sounds like a powerful scary guy.
On the pllus side, as you said karma has a way of coming back around. after my husband put us (myself and 3 sons) through the wringer he got hit by a truck. he will be in pain for the rest of his life.
For now, I really hope you get into a support group where you can go and sit down with ladies and a counselor. I think it would help alot. I don't know if they have YWCAs in Canada but if they do, definitely give them a call.
best wishes, Karen
