So I have blocked my ex abuser's phone number and facebook, but we still unfortunately work at the same place,. Luckily, I haven't actually worked a shift with him in a couple of months.... I pull up to work today and see him walking out to my car... mini-heart attack. I pretended I didn't see him, but he knocked on my window, so I cracked it open just a bit and said, "What?" He said, "I just wanted to apologize. I won't give you any problems. I'd never hurt you." And then walked back inside...
I can only hope it's true, but can't say I haven't heard THAT before.

So funny how it always starts out so easy and non-threatening and cool. Right?! Let's see what he does when you continue not speaking to him, etc.!

Abuse is usually a long and vicious cycle!! The abuser will abuse you, then play nice, then over and over again. People usually do not change, so please keep this in mind, and try to remember what person he is, and why you left him!

I'd say what he did was pretty creepy. He was obviously waiting for you. Eeew.

I'd tell him to back the f off and never contact you again.

It's like he's already trying to control you by expecting you to be okay with what he did and just b/c he said that he'd never hurt you means permission for him to invade your space like that.

I'd start documenting this stuff. It'll escalate...

Stay strong. You're doing the right thing. Also, good for you for being as calm as you were when he came up to your window. I imagine that would be difficult to maintain your composure under those circumstances.

You're putting safety first by not opening your door or rolling down your window, and by not falling for what very likely may be a false promise and letting your guard down, good for you! And it's true that the very fact he was waiting for you, and approached you in your car when you've made it clear you want no contact with him, IS an abusive set of behaviors and attitudes, so he's demonstrated you still have reason to be leery.
