Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
The body and the mind remember the trauma and when they have some stimulant that triggers them it could result into nightmares.
My trick is to create a small space between the trigger and my emotions and tell myself something like: Everything is okay you are safe.
I remember you asked advice for therapy and I hope you have taken the steps to go there.
And the most important thing is to give yourself time and be kind to yourself.
My councellor said the questionnaire does not really show any depression in me, I think that's because it is so deep within. Suppose we learn to hide most things during the time we are in the abusive relationship.

Its funny how they are the abusers, the ones to have affairs and lie, yet we are the ones not only left with the scars, but with all the problems to sort out. Feel like my brain is going to pop, with all the stress.
