Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
I probably understand how you feel. My husband gets in horrible moods sometimes and I've been told by my friends that it's emotionally abusive. I'm not sure it's that bad, really. He just has struggles. But I've cried alone, and felt really scared because of it. The worst is not knowing if he's going to be upset, or why. Sundays are often difficult. Today - a Sunday - he's not spoken to me much, has played video games all day, and seems upset with our little dog for disturbing him. Maybe he isn't mad, but I worry about it. I want to cry. I'm thinking about taking a soak, but I feel like I need to run interference with the dog. It's stressful. So if that's how you feel, then I totally get it.
No one, regardless of what they are struggling with or what disorder or disease they might have, has the right to be abusive. Nor is abuse ever justified. Once is one thing. More than once usually indicates a pattern. Many abusers can be sweet and loving, totally apologetic to the point of crying, but they always revert back. That's part of the abuse cycle. No one deserves to be abused.
Its very difficult to heal from abuse without the appropriate help and support. Please find a qualified trauma release therapist who can help you rebuild your self-esteem, learn to set and keep boundaries. Plus a therapist you a good sounding board and can refer you to healthy support groups IRL.
